FIMBank and the MACM discuss Credit Management and Factoring

16.11.2016

FIMBank and the council of the Malta Association of Credit Management (MACM) recently discussed topics in relation to credit management, and the growing relevance of factoring as an essential credit management instrument.

During the meeting, representatives of FIMBank’s Med Factors, the Bank’s factoring department, gave a presentation about the Group and the Bank’s suite of factoring services to members of the MACM council. The latter were also given an overview of how factoring works in a practical context, and were briefed on the benefits for companies making use of this credit management option.

Commenting on the initiative, Nicholas Henrion, FIMBank Vice President Factoring, stated that “The meeting with the MACM coincides with the intensification of FIMBank’s ongoing efforts to develop a market presence with its factoring services in Malta. Factoring is gaining a global reputation as a powerful credit management tool for businesses of different sizes, and most particularly for SMEs. We therefore believe that it is worthwhile investing in informing local businesses, including the members of the MACM, on the benefits which can accrue from including factoring as a primary credit management option.”

Josef Busuttil, Director General of the MACM, explained that informative sessions such as the one held with FIMBank’s Med Factors fall perfectly within the scope of the association, which is the central national organisation responsible for the promotion and protection of all credit interest pertaining to Maltese businesses. “We are pleased to join forces with FIMBank in this effort to educate and assist our members, who are companies of all sizes and hail from different sectors. Together, we can highlight elements related to this important credit management tool, for the benefit of several businesses. We look forward to further collaboration on these lines, where the FIMBank Group’s expertise and resources can continue to support the needs of our members.”
