Relationship Officer

FIMBank is an international trade finance bank with an international network of offices spanning five continents. The Bank is headquartered in Malta, is listed on the Malta Stock Exchange, and regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority.  We are seeking to recruit a Relationship Officer to join our Trade & Receivables Finance team.

Job Description

Main missions are to provide business support to the department (RMs and HoD) and coordinate with colleagues as necessary (TFMO, RMD, Compliance, PO, etc.) to ensure efficient running and supervision of the business:

  • Maintenance of the Customer relationship;
  • Preparation of Term Sheet for submission to the Borrower;
  • Preparation of Credit Applications for submission to the Bank’s Risk Management for approval;
  • Preparation of Sanction/Facility letters subsequent to the approval of the Credit Application;
  • Providing the Customer as well as other departments within the Bank with a point of reference for any enquiry regarding the Trade Finance business;
  • Checking of documentation and perfection of security;
  • Monitor loan disbursements and repayments;
  • Periodical review of facilities;
  • Onboarding Clients to open new accounts;
  • Organize documentation in an orderly filing system;

Skills and Experience

  • Practical work experience processing Trade Finance / corporate loans in a local bank or financial institution;
  • Possess Diploma/Certificate in Banking & Finance or equivalent;
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills both in English and Maltese;
  • Be capable of working effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision;
  • Be able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively in line with business exigencies;
  • Enjoy meeting customers;
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
