FIMBank is an international trade finance bank with an international network of offices spanning five continents. The Bank is headquartered in Malta, is listed on the Malta Stock Exchange, and regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority.  We are seeking to recruit an Associate within our Trade Services division.

Job Description

The Trade Services division is at the core of processing any Letters of Credit, Guarantees & Collections serviced by the bank. It ensures that structure and documentation handled satisfy the terms and conditions defined, to ensure that payments are honoured by the respective parties. The division links risk management and operational control processes to help protect the bank’s assets and reputation. Operations staff work closely with the other divisions – as well as external clients (as required) to help facilitate business.

Role Duties:

  • Support to Day to day through input  of transactions on banking system(s) in line with business origination
  • Report changes to transactions to internal and external parties as required
  • Participate in team projects involving the testing of new setups on banking software to meet business needs
  • Liaise with other departments in relation to transactions being handled
  • Manage transaction follow-up and record updates accordingly
  • Assist in transactional regulatory checks as required
  • Assist the monitoring team in following up matters with clients and banks as required
  • Assist in reconciliation of accounts across products
  • Handle filing of documentation and assist in periodic checks of documentation held
  • Handling queries and related activities in an efficient manne

Expected Attributes

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Accurate and efficient data input capabilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and proficiency
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a busy environment.
  • A team player assisting others as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Banking & Finance Diploma preferred
  • Experience in handling of LCs, Guarantees and collections.
