Banking Operations Associate

London Forfaiting Company Limited (“LFC”) was established in 1984 to specialize in the arrangement and provision of forfaiting and other trade related products. The company was then acquired in 2003 by FIMBank plc with the objective of developing the FIMBank Group into an international player in trade finance and forfaiting. Headquartered in London, LFC operates through a network of offices in New York, San Paulo, Paris, Moscow, Cologne, Singapore and Malta. Forfaiting is a form of international supply chain financing, which involves the discounting of future payment obligations, usually evidenced by negotiable instruments, on a without-recourse basis.

We are currently in the process of recruiting a Banking Operations Associate for the Operations Department, which is located in Malta. The function of this unit is the processing and administration of documentation relating to the forfaiting business traded in the international markets by our overseas offices. Reporting to the Head of Department, the duties and responsibilities of the position include settlement of forfaiting transactions, reconciliations of company statements, data entry and other general office duties. Applicants are likely to have concluded their Degree / Diploma in Banking and Financial Services. Prior office experience will be considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be expected to have the determination and motivation to meet stringent deadlines and business targets. Excellent communication skills and a command of written and spoken English are essential. Training and development will be ongoing in order to enhance the knowledge and skills required to operate successfully in this sector.
