The Payment services directive was designed to establish a single market for payments within the European Union. The revised directive was proposed by the European Commission in order to create a more uniform, transparent and open EU payment market that keeps innovation, competition and security at the forefront. 
This directive is applicable from January 2018. You may refer to the attached leaflet for further information.
