FIMBank Trade Finance specialists attend IBIA Conference

Members of the Trade Finance business team at FIMBank plc attended the IBIA Mediterranean Energy and Shipping Conference, held in Malta. The Bank was also one of the sponsors of the event.

The International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) is considered to be the voice of the global bunker industry, representing stakeholders across the industry value chain. The primary role of the IBIA is to promote improved standards, knowledge and understanding of the industry. Formed in 1992, the Association nowadays has members in more than 70 countries.

The first day of the conference consisted of training on next generation bunker fuels where both members from the FIMBank business and operations teams attended. On the second day, participants took part in a number of panels on challenges facing the industry, as well as the adoption of blue and green fuels. A panel led by FIMBank focused on financing the bunker ecosystem and related challenges. The last day of the event saw participants being taken on informative site visits of the Evos and Enemed bunker terminals. During the conference, the FIMBank specialists also had the opportunity to network and meet existing and potential Malta-based and international clients.
