Protect Yourself From Fraudulent Communications
05.05.2026
FIMBank p.l.c. is alerting the public to ongoing attempts by fraudsters to misuse the Bank’s name, logo, and identity in order to deceive individuals. These fraudulent schemes are designed to appear legitimate and often aim to pressure recipients into sharing personal information or making unauthorised payments. Recent reports indicate that scammers are circulating messages claiming that funds have been sent to FIMBank or are “awaiting release,” sometimes accompanied by fabricated documents or payment confirmations. These communications are intended to create a false sense of urgency and prompt individuals to act quickly without verification.
Fraudsters may reach out through various channels, including email, phone calls, SMS, and social media platforms. Their messages may appear convincing, but they are often unsolicited, overly persuasive, or “too good to be true”. In some cases, individuals have reported impersonation of FIMBank Relationship Managers or other customer support staff, as well as attempts to replicate the appearance of official correspondence.
Recent cases have also shown instances where individuals are informed that funds are held with FIMBank, but the IBAN provided does not belong to the Bank. This may be a sign of fraudulent activity. However, this is only one potential indicator. Even where an IBAN appears to relate to FIMBank, this alone does not confirm that a request or communication is legitimate. Members of the public should always verify using the official contact details published on the Bank’s website.
FIMBank reminds the public that the Bank will never request personal information, ask for payments through unofficial channels, or instruct individuals to send money in order to release or recover funds.
Members of the public who receive suspicious communications referencing FIMBank are strongly advised to:
• Avoid sharing personal or financial information.
• Refrain from sending any payments or fees.
• Avoid clicking on unexpected links or attachments.
Anyone who is uncertain about the authenticity of a message is encouraged to contact FIMBank using the official contact details published on the Bank’s website. The Bank’s team will assist in verifying whether the communication is genuine. FIMBank remains committed to safeguarding the public and actively monitors fraudulent activity involving the misuse of its name. The Bank will continue to update its website with examples of common fraud attempts and practical guidance to help individuals stay informed and protected.
